Walters Director Appointed Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers

Congratulations go to Walters Director, Tim Whinney, who has been admitted as a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE). Tim’s admission as a Fellow was approved at a recent ICE Fellowship Panel meeting on 24th May 2012.

Fellow is the highest grade of ICE membership available and is only awarded if you have been engaged in a position of responsibility in the construction, maintenance or management of important engineering work.

Tim, who has over 30 years experience of undertaking complex civil engineering projects, joined Walters in 2004 as a Contracts Manager having worked for much of his career as a civil engineer with a number of major, national contractors.

In 2007, Tim became a Director of Walters where, amongst his many other duties, he is responsible for assisting and mentoring Graduate Engineers in their quest to become Chartered Engineers and Members of the Institution themselves.

Tim is also active in local Institution affairs having been elected to serve on the south Wales Committee of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2011.
