Safety First, Second & Third for Walters
The contract in question is being undertaken for Skanska and comprises the reconstruction of Junction 19 on the M1 – one of the busiest motorway junctions in the country where the M1 intersects with both the M6 and the busy A14.
The first of the awards was received in March of this year, when Walters were awarded the inaugural Health, Safety and Environmental Award which is awarded on a monthly basis to the subcontractor demonstrating the best approach to health and safety matters.
This was followed in April when Gheorghe Sandhu, a long serving Walters employee, was awarded the Individual Safety Award for the month.
The third award arrived in May when Walters were once again awarded the Subcontractor Monthly HSE Award.
